Confidence is Up, Marketing is Needed

How optimistic are you about your small business? Statistically, you’re probably feeling better about your economic outlook than you were a couple of months ago, according to a July survey by the National Federation of Independent Business. But the same source indicates that overall economic indicators still show slow growth in the small business economy.

Those two facts don’t necessarily contradict each other. Rather, they suggest that small businesses are still facing a tough time at present, but that good things await those who successfully weather the storm.

Optimism is good. Small business optimism reflects consumer optimism, and consumer optimism is a major driver of economic activity. With the US economy and the local Los Angeles economy showing steady, even if slow growth, it’s a good time to use that optimism as a motivator for investing in additional marketing and social media outreach.
